The Fardia Strata trail takes you from the peaceful village of Ano Pitrofos all the way to the lively seaside town of Batsi. , a scenic route that weaves through traditional villages, olive groves, ancient trails, and spectacular landscapes.
Starting from the picturesque village of Ano Pitrofos, this moderate hike takes you all the way to the vibrant seaside town of Batsi, offering a perfect blend of nature, culture, and history.
As we set off from Ano Pitrofos, we’ll have the option to visit the Cyclades Olive Museum, a beautifully restored olive mill that tells the story of traditional olive oil production in Andros. From there, we follow a network of cobbled paths and rural footpaths (known locally as strates), walking along stone walls and through fragrant Mediterranean vegetation.
Along the way, you’ll experience breathtaking views over the western coastline of Andros and pass by remote chapels, ancient ruins, and lush terraced valleys. The route descends gradually until we reach Batsi—a lively coastal village where you can enjoy a swim, a meal, or a well-deserved rest by the sea.
Whether you’re a seasoned hiker or simply seeking a meaningful way to connect with the island’s soul, this walking tour is an unforgettable experience.
- The hikes offer a moderate hike with a maximum of 2-3 hours walk. This tour requires reasonable physical and mental health on behalf of all participants!
- This tour is not suitable for people with walking difficulties.
- Necessary: long trousers, appropriate shoes and socks, hat and sunscreen.
- For fewer than four (4) people, the activity will take place with an extra charge
