During the cruise, you will visit Diaporos island, Ammouliani island, and Banana Beach, exploring turquoise waters, diving spots, and coastal locations surrounded by green landscapes and sandy shores. The cruise departs at 10:30 from Ouranoupolis with the vessel “Ioanna”, heading towards the island of Diaporos in the area of Vourvourou. As you leave behind the peninsula of Mount Athos, you can admire the impressive Mount Athos (2,033m) in the background, while on the right you will see Ammouliani island and the Drenia islands.
The first stop takes place at Diaporos island, where the vessel stops in open waters for approximately 45 minutes, giving you the opportunity to dive into the crystal-clear turquoise sea and enjoy swimming.
The cruise then continues towards Ammouliani island and Tsaska Banana Beach, reached after about 1 hour. Here you will have approximately 2 hours to relax, swim, and enjoy the beach. The area combines shallow waters, ideal for children, with lush green surroundings. Music, atmosphere, and beach facilities create a vibrant summer experience. For those who wish to explore further, there is a path leading to the highest hill of the island, offering panoramic views of Ammouliani, Sithonia, and Mount Athos.
After the beach stop, the vessel continues to the traditional harbor of Ammouliani village, where you will have approximately 1 hour to explore the local market and the historical landmarks of the island. The central church dates back to 1865 and was built by monks from Mount Athos. The island belonged to the Holy Monastery of Vatopedi until 1925, when it was granted to Greek refugees from Asia Minor. You can also visit the folklore museum (built in 1907) and the old arsanas, used by monks as a docking place for wooden boats.
Finally, the return journey to Ouranoupolis lasts approximately 20 minutes, with arrival around 17:00.
