Corinth Canal crossing with Catamaran Argo
Activity Description
Experience a unique cruise on the Corinth Canal with the Catamaran Argo and discover one of the most impressive engineering works and historical sites in Greece up close.
The cruise offers visitors the opportunity to cross the Isthmus of Corinth from the sea, enjoying the imposing image of the vertical slopes and the unique geomorphology of the Canal. During the approximately 1-hour tour, passengers have the opportunity to learn about the history of the opening of the Canal, a project with roots that reach back to antiquity, from 602 BC.
As the ship crosses the Canal, visitors can admire the impressive straight section of the Isthmus, 6,346 meters long, which created an important sea passage between the Corinthian and Saronic Gulfs. The natural slopes, with a height of up to 78 meters, reveal the geological history of the area and create an impressive setting reminiscent of a natural canyon.
During the cruise, visitors also have the opportunity to observe points of historical interest, such as the historical plaque of Nero, one of the first inspirers and supporters of the opening of the Canal.
The experience is ideal for families, couples, groups and visitors who want to get to know one of the most emblematic places in Greece through a short, comfortable and special sea tour.
