Hiking & Wine Tasting in Nemea (Corinthia)
Activity Description
Just an hour from Athens, a winter excursion full of nature, history, and landscapes that smell like... Nemea awaits you.
Nemea... Land of Mythology, History, and Wine
Nemea stretches between rolling hills and vineyards that seem to roll like waves across the landscape. It is a land that lives off its wine and breathes through tradition. The famous Agiorgitiko grape ripens here, in one of Greece's most important wine-producing destinations, where the wine routes take you from small family wineries to iconic estates with a long history. Beneath the surface of the vineyards lies the ancient world of myths. It was here that Hercules completed his first labor by slaying the fearsome Nemean Lion, bringing to life a place that has since been associated with strength, courage, and transcendence. A little further on, in the ancient stadium, you can still feel the breath of the athletes of the Nemean Games – a sacred institution that stood on a par with the Olympics.
Here, nature, mythology, and history do not compete; they coexist harmoniously and give Nemea that charm that makes exploration seem like a natural continuation of everyday life.
